Both National Capital Region and Delhi have become the major attraction for Chinese companies which are focusing to lease office space out of their home country. Chinese giants have successfully leased over a million sq. feet of commercial spaces in Delhi and NCR regions over the past few years, according to JLL, a real estate service organization.
Chinese companies have leased over 85,537 sq. ft. of commercial space in Mumbai during this period. On the other side, Delhi/NCR has come out as one of the hottest
favorite office destinations in 70 important markets for Chinese companies and is all set to lease 516,667 sq. ft. of office space.
JLL India CEO Ramesh Nair added, “Chinese companies are planning to make their presence felt across Asia and have established office spaces in all the leading markets, including India. Despite the fact that leasing is driven widely by European and US based markets in India, Chinese giants are also establishing their base to get the most of market size and the promoted growth in economy.”
Delhi is one of those cities. Singapore is the hottest favorite destination for mainland companies which are growing overseas. Along with being the most transparent and stable market in Asia and global financial hub, Singapore is geographically well located and has great links with China to serve as a gateway to Southeast Asia, according to a JLL report.
According to Nair, various Chinese giants like OPPO, Vivo, ZTE, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Alibaba have expanded their presence in the country. VIVO has taken over 600,000 sq. ft. of office space in NCR region from 2014 to 2017. OPPO covered over 100,000 sq. ft. There are other players like Bank of China, Alibaba, and ZTE absorbed over 100,000 sq. ft. of commercial space from 2015 to 2017 in Mumbai.
