REAL ESTATE NEWS FOR MAHARASHTRA

15th December 2020

To win a marathon one must take the first step, rest all is efforts, attitude, and plain winning instincts, that take charge. The state of Maharashtra has taken its first step in the direction of addressing the real estate slow down and that from the consumer's perspective.

The state government of Maharashtra has announced a 1% stamp duty concession for the next two years and other related charges. All registration of documents under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and Municipal Corporation of Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Nagpur will be beneficiaries in the first phase, said Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani National President NAREDCO based on the maiden Budget presented to the state government.

A positive thought always gets rewarded with a strong appreciation and if the thought is from the consumer's perspective then it has more mileage and deep penetration. This move by the state government has already sent positive ripples in the real estate market which is surely going to wake up from its long slumber. The home buyers and the real estate see this as a positive move to re-position Maharashtra's real estate market and surely will set it abuzz again.

The concession has been welcomed by the real state stakeholders and is hoping for more concessions to be considered in the coming future with more real estate hubs in the state benefiting from this active and positive step. Equipped with a larger agenda the state holders are satisfied that their issues are being considered and are very hopeful that the future will be brighter.

The  plans have been tabled to the state government that will cover issues like Larger FSI , zoning issues, using government lands to build affordable housing for the lower-income group. The proposals also cover the most important aspect that addresses the connectivity issue too far off places which will then help the home buyer to be able to invest in a safer environment. The stakeholders are very motivated after this great first step by the state government as this will not only help them grow by selling their unsold inventories but also will help the state government in growing the state's economy.

The stalwarts of the real estate industry in Maharashtra are also hoping to have more from this movie that will take them to the next level of smart operations for the real estate agents and also the home buyers by having fast track clearing windows that will address the day to day issues. They also envisage all projects to be completed in the given timelines and provide relief to buyers and agents to be able to push for newer projects.

The President Mr. Hiranandani is hoping to see a new dawn in the real estate industry of Maharashtra in the coming near future with all proposals getting the state governments approvals and with this concession comes a new alliance between the state government, and the consumers along with the stakeholders, which then will be a win-win situation for all.
