The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Coastal Road project has got the clearance. The 8-lane, 33.2km long stretch will connect Nariman Point to Kandivali. The road is proposed to ease traffic, especially on Western Express Highway. It is also planned to extend road connectivity from Kandivali to Mira Road and further to NH8 which will connect Mumbai to Ahmadabad. According to transport consultant, Jitendra Gupta, road construction is not going to be very easy. It will improve connectivity and deal with the congestion on roads and government will complete the work on timely basis.

CIDCO’s Joint MD, V Radha, clears that the Navi Mumbai airport is planned to be started by December 2019 and it will truly transform this landscape into a leading residential and commercial hub. Here, connectivity is the secret to success. It is planned to connect both Navi Mumbai and Mumbai airports with metro rail project via BKC. According to Senior Vice President (Finance), Hariprakash Pandey, HDIL, the airport will lead to a great benefit to social and physical infrastructural growth of Navi Mumbai, on hospitality sector and improve employment opportunities in this area. Just an announcement of the airport in Navi Mumbai led a boom in property prices in Navi Mumbai. Property prices are expected to rise once the construction of airport starts.

Infrastructure project further improve connectivity. The MTHL and the airport will improve commercial presence and will transform various suburbs of Navi Mumbai. These areas will see huge development and transformation into leading commercial hubs and attract investors looking for the job. Residential properties will see huge demand and development of social infrastructure like 5-star hotels, malls, colleges, schools, hospitals and restaurants. The property prices are soaring high in the city and several home buyers are looking for properties in outskirts.
