Recently, the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs approved up to 5 Lakh urban houses to be built as affordable units for beneficiaries who fall under PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) Urban. The government has planned to invest up to Rs. 31,003 Crore to develop newly announced homes. The centre would fund Rs. 8,107 Cr in total.
The affordable homes which are recently announced will be built in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, according to the officials. Total of 1,42,447 housing units have been sanctioned in Andhra Pradesh by the government. In addition, the centre has approved 1,18,646 homes in Karnataka and 1,20,645 affordable homes in Uttar Pradesh. In the same way, the government has sanctioned Madhya Pradesh with 1,00,341 homes, Chhattisgarh with 29,703 homes,
Jharkhand with 30,486 homes, and Arunachal Pradesh with 2,822 homes. Under the scheme, Centre approved 112,083 affordable units for construction earlier this month, with Rs. 8,105 Cr. of investment. Total 37 lakh houses have been planned with this announcement under PMAY scheme. Hopefully, it will benefit the people who are looking for affordable homes in cities. It will help them find a shelter because they are unable to afford luxury homes from builders.
